How to get into photography?

i don't know Much bout photography but my brother does, he has a Canon 18 mega pixel camera i think he spent right around 1000$ on it and the way he started was to start in some classes find out how to take a good picture and get out there allot take allot of pictures i mean my brother takes hundreds a day sometimes. education is important otherwise how else would you know how to take a picture he has a Adobe lightroom on his computer that helps to edit your photos. a good way to practice would be know about all the band in your area evan the ones at your bar and if you take a really good photo you might be able to sell it.
