Why are moms so selfish and over pertective?

Well,it sounds like your mom doesn't want to take care of her responsibilities,yet wants to control her on her terms.I have a 14 year old,and feel it's important for her to get out and be with girls her own age.My mom was like that and I ended up resenting her for it.I know it must be very hard to see her in that position.Was your mom like that with you,or just since she got married to a man with kids.It is our responsibility as a mom to do those things and it seems as though your mom has forgotten that.Like she wants to have her own life now that her own kids are older.Talk to your sister on the phone as much as you can,and remind her that she is the child and teenager,not your mom.Sometimes it may take for you to confront your mom about it since you are older if you can.If not,she needs to talk to someone,even a group of kids,for if nothing is done,she will resent her mom later on.
