College honors ? Grade freaks wanted?

Im not a grade freak, in high school my gpa was in the mid 2s. But after finishing up a full 12 credit semester, which was my first, at my community college i got an email saying i made vice presidents list. bassically i got 3 outa for As the other was a B. My question is, what does that mumbo mean, can it help a resume? I guess i get a award letter or somethin but is it just bragging rights, or can a letter regaurding one semester actaully mean somethin?
